Waiting List Policies and Procedures

ITP's Waiting List and Enrollment Policies and Procedures:

At ITP, our courses are set up with 3-person waiting lists. Waitlisted students must attend the first class session to remain waitlisted for the course. Here are some important points to keep in mind about waiting lists and enrollment:
  • If any waitlisted students do not attend the first class, the course instructor will email Dante to let him know, and he will remove the students from the waiting list.
    • If a student has a scheduling conflict with an enrolled course which prevents them from attending a waitlisted class during the first two weeks of the term, they must email Dante to inform him in order to remain waitlisted despite their non-attendance.
  • Our department does not allow students to remain on a waiting list if they have not attended the first class session. This is not fair to other waitlisted students who are potentially interested in joining the course, who did show up to the first class.
  • We do not allow students who are not either 1.) currently enrolled or 2.) on a waiting list to attend a class session. If a student comes to the first class and is not either 1.) enrolled or 2.) on the waiting list (as listed on the official course roster in Albert) course instructors are advised to send the student to see Dante, as they are not allowed to attend class.
  • Students may not audit ITP courses under any circumstances. This is for safety and class size reasons.
  • Please keep in mind that course instructors do not manage enrollment and should not be contacted about enrollment issues (i.e. asking for permission to join a class). Students may only join a class if there is an opening in Albert either in the class, or if there is a spot available on the waiting list.
  • Any enrollment issues or questions should be directed to Dante via email.
